Professional Eye Care Services at Home
Sight Care At Home offers eye examinations and eye care services at the Care Home or the patient’s private residence. Using our state-of-the-art technology, we offer the same high level of expertise and care you would expect to find in a high street Opticians.
Our eye care specialists will travel to the Care Home or the patient’s private residence to carry out a comprehensive eye test and follow this by a detailed discussion with the patient about the results and alleviate any concerns they may have.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Before the eye care specialist examines the patient’s eyes, they will ask some important questions to ensure they understand the patient’s general health, medical history and any current problems they are experiencing with their vision. This is all part of the testing process.
Professional Eye Care Services at Home
Using the patient’s care plan, the Optician will provide an information booklet to the Care Home Manger (or the patient if testing in their private residence) outlining the results of the eye test and any recommendations for the patient going forward.
What Will We Ask During the Examination?
Typical questions asked will include:
- How is the patient’s vision when watching TV?
- Is the patient’s vision better with glasses?
- How is the patient’s vision whilst reading?
The answers to these questions prove helpful for the patient’s families and the Care Home staff in terms of providing an understanding of the patient’s vision.
Our Opticians will take a photograph of the patient with their glasses on and give this to the Care Home Manager to keep in the patient’s information booklet. This proves helpful when patients lose their glasses and require a replacement.
